The Flinders Asia Centre is a multi-disciplinary centre that operates alongside the Discipline of Asian Studies and Languages.
Asian Studies is a multi-disciplinary field. A department of Asian Studies was first introduced at Flinders in 1976 bringing together staff from Economics, Geography, History and Politics.
Bahasa Indonesia was first taught at Flinders in 1978.
In 2004, engagement with Asia at Flinders University was enhanced when the Flinders Asia Centre was established.
